Our History

Our practice has been serving patients for nearly half a century, and our three Optometrists have over 57 years of experience. We serve thousands of patients from all across Muskoka, who trust us to care for their vision and eye health.

Dr. Cox purchased the Optometry practice from his Great-Uncle, Dr. Philip Thomas, who had established it in 1935. This long-standing history is important to us as you can see by the antique eyeglass display in the foyer. Over the years, Dr. Cox’s practice has continued to expand. Dr. Nicole Hatfield joined the practice in 2019 and partnered with Dr. Cox in 2021 to become co-owners of Bracebridge Family Eyecare.

We are always accepting new patients and are happy to serve Bracebridge and the surrounding area. We have many patients traveling to see us from Huntsville, Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, and beyond.
